Governors Honors Program
Students who are interested in attending Governors Honors (Freshmen, Sophomores, & Juniors) need to have a 3.0 GPA, excel at sight reading, and be prepared to learn an audition piece in a foreign language. In 2017-18, Northside had 3 students who auditioned and were accepted at the local level to proceed to the state auditions. Students provided video recordings, completed the required online forms, and were interviewed. One of the 3, Jill Reynolds, was selected as an alternate finalist. Students who are selected participate in a four-week summer program at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
Students who are interested for the 2024-2025 school year need to speak with Ms. Ward at the end of the current school year or the beginning of the next school year.
Information for this year’s deadlines can be found at: https://gosa.georgia.gov/governors-honors-program
